Rotary drum granulation production line completes integrated trial run

A rotary drum granulation production line customized by our company for a Nigerian client has successfully completed its integrated trial run. Following the test, the equipment was dismantled, packed into four containers, and shipped to Port Harcourt. The line comprises a rotary drum granulator, dryer, cooler, rotary screen, and coating machine; designed for a capacity of 4 tons per hour, it is intended for the client's compound fertilizer granulation project.

Unlike standard configurations, this line incorporates process adjustments tailored to the specific characteristics of the Nigerian raw materials. The client primarily utilizes local phosphate rock powder, urea, and a small amount of claymaterials that have a narrow granulation window. Our technical team reduced the rotary drum granulator's rotation speed from the standard 12 rpm to 9 rpm and adjusted the lifter flight angles to a combination of 30 degrees in the front section and 45 degrees in the rear to extend the material's rolling time inside the drum. Additionally, the steam nozzle position was shifted 300 mm toward the rear to ensure the material is fully wetted before entering the granulation zone. During the trial run, the entire line operated continuously for five hours, producing approximately 20 tons of granules. The granulation rate remained stable above 88%, granule compressive strength reached 35 Newtons, and moisture content after drying was controlled to within 2%.

To address the high humidity and long rainy seasons characteristic of Port Harcourt, the outer shells of the dryer and cooler were coated with anti-rust primer, the electrical control cabinets were equipped with automatic dehumidifiers, and all exposed drive chains were fitted with stainless steel protective covers. For shipping, the granulator's large gear and support rollers were dismantled and packed separately; the dryer drum was cleaned internally and sealed at both ends; and all equipment motors were sealed in moisture-proof bags. The four containers were loaded according to a classification of main equipment, auxiliary equipment, electrical controls, and spare parts, with all passing off-center load inspections.

Accompanying documentation includes English installation drawings, process parameter tables, and the trial run report; customs clearance is complete, and the shipment is ready for dispatch.
