A roller press granulator production line, custom-built for a Pakistani client, has recently undergone modifications to ensure reliable operation in high-temperature and high-humidity environments and has successfully passed factory trial runs. The equipment was dismantled, packed into four containers, and shipped to the Port of Karachi. Designed for compound fertilizer granulation with an hourly capacity of 3 tons, the line comprises the main roll-press unit, a crusher, a screening machine, a material recycling system, and an electrical control cabinet.
To address Karachi’s summer peak temperatures (reaching 45°C) and the coastal area's heavy salt-spray conditions, the technical team implemented several adjustments: the insulation class and cooling airflow were upgraded for both the main motor and the hydraulic station motor; an air-cooled cooler was installed on the hydraulic oil tank to ensure the oil temperature remains below 65°C during continuous operation; the electrical control cabinet was equipped with an industrial air conditioner to maintain an internal temperature below 35°C; and all exposed carbon steel components were treated with sandblasting followed by an epoxy zinc-rich primer and a polyurethane topcoat, while fasteners were replaced with stainless steel versions to resist salt-spray corrosion.
During the trial run, the entire line operated continuously for six hours in a simulated high-temperature environment. The main roll-press unit maintained stable current, hydraulic system pressure fluctuations remained under 0.5 MPa, the crusher and screening machine operated normally, and the granulation rate stayed above 90%. The client observed the trial run via video and confirmed that all parameters met contractual specifications.
For packaging, the roll-press unit's roller shells were coated with anti-rust grease and sealed, and desiccants were placed inside the electrical control cabinet; all four containers passed off-center load inspections. Accompanying documentation includes English installation drawings, an operation manual, and the trial run report. Customs clearance is complete, and the shipment is ready for dispatch.
