The disc granulator is central to fertilizer production. Its operating parameters directly impact efficiency and cost control. Fine-tuning these parameters scientifically can increase output while reducing energy consumption.
1.Adjusting Inclination: Controlling Particle Residence Time
The adjustment principle is that the smaller the angle, the longer the material stays and the larger the particles. The larger the angle, the faster the discharge speed, which is suitable for small particle production. The optimal inclination range: 35-55° (adjusted according to material characteristics).
2.Optimizing Rotation Speed: Balancing Pellet Quality and Output
The adjustment principle is that when the speed increases, the yield will increase but the ball formation rate will decrease. When the speed decreases, the ball formation rate will increase but the yield will decrease. The recommended speed for organic fertilizer is 12-18rpm, and the recommended speed for compound fertilizer is 20-25rpm.
3.Adjusting Baffle Height: Improving Particle Uniformity
The adjustment effect is to increase the proportion of 2-4mm particles to more than 80% and reduce the return volume by 30-50%. The primary baffle is set to 1/3 of the disc diameter, and the secondary baffle is set to 1/2 of the disc diameter.
4.Positioning Scrapers: Preventing Material Buildup
The best position of the scraper is set to a gap of 3-5mm from the bottom of the plate and 10-15mm from the edge of the plate, which can reduce the number of shutdowns for cleaning and extend the service life of the disc granulator by more than 20%.
By systematically adjusting these parameters, disc granulators achieve higher output and lower costs while ensuring consistent pellet quality and longer machine life.
