The horizontal crusher is a device that uses a horizontal main shaft to drive rotating components for material crushing. It is mainly used in the production of organic fertilizers and compound fertilizers for coarse and medium crushing of high-moisture materials after fermentation. The feed inlet is located at the top, and the discharge outlet is at the bottom. Material flows from top to bottom through the crushing chamber under gravity. The horizontal structure results in a low center of gravity, stable operation, and convenient feeding, making it suitable for connection with upstream and downstream conveying equipment. The equipment is highly adaptable to organic materials with high moisture content and is commonly used in organic fertilizer crushing sections.
Working Principle
Material enters the crushing chamber through the top feed inlet and falls onto the horizontally mounted high-speed rotating main shaft. The main shaft drives the crushing components to powerfully strike, shear, and impact the material. After being crushed, the material is thrown against the wear-resistant liner of the chamber wall, where it is further impacted by the crushing components due to the rebound effect of the liner. Qualified particles are discharged through the bottom screen, while coarse material remains in the chamber for further crushing. The material flows continuously and smoothly from top to bottom within the machine, preventing the accumulation and blockage of wet material within the chamber.
Equipment Composition
Casing and Grinding Chamber: Welded steel plate structure, split design for easy opening, maintenance, and screen replacement.
Main Shaft and Rotor Assembly: Multi-layer grinding components are fixed on the horizontally mounted main shaft, dynamically balanced for smooth operation.
Grinding Components: Hammers, blades, or toothed plates can be configured according to material characteristics; made of wear-resistant material and replaceable individually.
Screen Device: Installed at the bottom of the grinding chamber; semi-circular or flat multi-hole screen; aperture can be changed to adjust the output fineness.
Transmission System: The motor drives the main shaft via belt or coupling; belt drive provides overload buffering.
Frame Base: Welded steel structure supports the entire machine and lowers the center of gravity, ensuring stable operation.
Performance Characteristics
Good Wet Material Adaptability: The horizontal structure allows for unobstructed material path, enabling normal crushing of materials with a moisture content below 35%.
Convenient Feeding: The high top feed inlet is suitable for direct feeding via loader or conveyor belt.
Smooth Operation: The low center of gravity of the horizontal main shaft results in minimal vibration and low noise.
Adjustable Fineness: The fineness range can be adjusted by changing different mesh sizes of the screen.
Overload Protection: The belt drive slips under overload conditions to protect the motor and main shaft.
Easy Maintenance: The machine casing can be opened in sections for easy replacement of screens and crushing components.
