Key material requirements for organic fertilizer production lines

Organic fertilizer production lines turn agricultural waste, livestock manure, and similar raw materials into effective organic fertilizer. However, not all materials are suitable for direct processing. Materials that don't meet requirements can lead to incomplete fermentation, difficulty in pelletizing, or poor fertilizer quality in the final product.

1.Material Composition Requirements

High Organic Matter: Suitable materials (like livestock manure, straw, food waste) should have an organic matter content ≥30%. Lower levels result in fertilizer with poor effectiveness.

Avoid Harmful Substances: Impurities like heavy metals (like lead, cadmium), plastic, or glass need to be sorted out beforehand using fertilizer screener machine. Otherwise, they harm fertilizer safety and soil health.

2.Moisture Control

Too High (>70%): Materials clump easily, affecting fermentation and crushing.

Too Low (<40%): Microbial activity is insufficient, slowing down composting.

Solutions: For wet materials (like fresh manure), add dry agents like straw or rice husks. For overly dry materials (like dead leaves), spray water or mix with high-moisture materials.

3.Carbon-to-Nitrogen Ratio (C/N = 25:1 - 30:1)

An imbalanced C/N ratio causes slow fermentation or bad odors.

Too High Carbon (C): Slows decomposition; needs added nitrogen sources (like manure).

Too High Nitrogen (N): Leads to ammonia gas; needs added carbon sources (like wood chips, straw).

4.Material Particle Size (After Crushing ≤2cm)

Oversized particles (>5cm) affect even fermentation and pelletizing.

5.Harmless Processing

Unprocessed materials might carry pathogens or insect eggs, harming crop growth.

In summary, organic fertilizer production lines have strict requirements for material composition, moisture, C/N ratio, particle size, and processing level. Only materials meeting these standards can produce high-quality organic fertilizer.
